Contract Tax Return Reviewer (CPA or EA)

Seasonal Tax Season Opportunity | Remote & In-Office Options

Downers Grove, Illinois | February through Mid-April 2027 Compensation: $50-$100 per Hour (Based on Experience)

Are you an experienced CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) looking for a flexible, seasonal opportunity with a well-established and growing CPA firm? We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Tax Return Reviewer to join our team during the 2027 tax season.

This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, while collaborating with a professional team dedicated to delivering exceptional service to a sophisticated client base.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and sign off on complex Federal, State, and Local income tax returns for:
• • Individuals
  • Partnerships
  • S Corporations
  • C Corporations
• Ensure tax returns are accurate, compliant, and completed in accordance with current tax laws and regulations
• Provide guidance and technical support to tax preparers
• Assist with estimated tax payment calculations and extension filings
• Identify and resolve e-filing issues and tax software challenges
• Research tax and accounting matters and recommend appropriate solutions
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding tax-related matters
• Collaborate with Partners and report directly to the Managing Partner

Qualifications

• Active CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of recent experience in income tax preparation and review
• Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and Local tax regulations
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and UltraTax, or comparable tax preparation software
• Experience in a paperless office environment
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced seasonal setting
• Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of client confidentiality and professional service

Compensation & Benefits
